What I liked most about Human Geo this year was the fact that it was a very open to anyone's thoughts type of class. Plus the teacher was funny and I loved all of my classmates. The tests and graded assignments were very easy for me to do and that was what I liked the most. I am going to miss this class very much because it was one of the more easier classes that I have taken over the years. But I am excited for the new class in Western Civ and I hope to have as much fun. This will be my last post that I make on this blog so I hope that anyone who read it, also enjoyed it and found inspiration to make their own word.

Day #41-The Testing Test

Today in Human Geo we continued to go over notes an essentially finished up the video and put down the parts that we would need in the future for the test. I was glad that we went over a few of these things because now I know what to expect for the test. Then Mr. Schick asked all of the questions about the test and what we would need to know for the test. But the best part of it all was the fact that he was literally  looking at the test when he asked so all of the questions that he asked will be something that I will need to know. I will make a later post tomorrow and put down everything that I need to know after Grace sends out all of the questions and answers combined with my information. I will make this post just in case if we have another open blog test like the last one.

Day #40-The Ridiculous Review

Today in Human Geo we would review for the test that is coming up on Friday and I think that I'm ready because I understand the material. Today all that we did was just talk about the movie and what we thought about the movie and I like today's class. I like the class today because it was something I didn't fully understand at first but now after the class today I do understand it more. Today there were a lot of questions answered and I like that a lot.

Day #39-The Terrific Theory

When it comes to Diamonds theory I would totally agree with what he has to say and what he says. It was the plants and farming as to why Papa New Guinea did not prosper unlike all of the other civilizations. They never had the plants that were the same as the other civilizations around the world. Plus the animals that they could domesticate were only pigs and they could not help when it came to farming because they did not have the muscle to pull a plow. So the animals needed to domesticate were not in the civilization of Papa New Guinea. Finally they did not have the technology to make steel which would have helped them a lot when it came to farming because they would have to do less and then get a lot more. Plus they could not build crops with the products that they had in order to make one and they had no animal to pull it so they would have to pull it by hand. So the only muscle in Papa New Guinea was the human muscle which would not help the evolving the community. So in conclusion I would have to agree with what Diamond said and studied because I agree with his theory.

Day #38-The Populated Powerpoint

Today in Human Geo we continued to do our power point on Urban population and that was a lot of fun to learn about. What I liked the most is the fact that this unit is like an introduction to Western Civ and that is very useful to know. Also what I liked the most about this unit is that it is more interesting than the other units that e have learned so far in my opinion. But what I like most in this opinion is that it is more of a history unit more than anything. I like history more than Geography because I like this unit more than the first five. But this is what I like the most of the first Semester of Human Geo.

Day #37-The Ultimate Urban Universe

Today in Human Geo we went into a opposite direction than what we would normally study and we went to urban related study. We learned about the first five urban colonies of the world. They were Mesopotamia, Nile Valley, Indus River Valley, Hein and Wei or some kind of Chinese Valley, and Mesoamerica. But I have not heard of any of these except for my studies on Mesopotamia but then I realized what the other cultures were. I knew some information on the Mayans and the Aztecs, I also knew some background information on the Chinese soldiers, and finally I knew about Nile River Valley because I studied a quarter back in seventh grade on that civilization of Egypt. So I found it very fascinating about all the things that I knew but I did not even realize.

Day #36-The Relenting Review

Today in Human Geo class we did a review on the exam test that we will take on Thursday. I think that overall it will be a relatively easier test than some of my other classes but we will see because this semester was fun. But that is the thing I am so concerned about is that I think that I had to much fun this semester and did not study or try hard enough. I will not make that mistake again next semester. There is a lot of information on that review sheet from this year and I do not know if I will be able to take it all in on Thursday. There is a lot of topics that we covered this year for sure and it will be challenging but if I study I will do well.

Day #35-The Tackle of The Test

Today in Human Geo we took the test on microfinance and it was hard to see how I did. I thought that I did pretty well but I do not know yet because at the same time I could have gotten a bad grade as well. I think that I got a B average area but I hope that I need to get a good grade so we will see. I knew all of the questions except two maybe three of them.

Day #34-Microfinance Matrix

Today in Human Geo we did a couple of things that were all very interesting. For the first part of class we talked about Mr. Schick and his academic team so it was interesting. The topics that he picked were very hard to understand. He gave us a couple of examples of the questions that his team had to answer during the academic events and I thought that it would be very hard to answer and I would not be happy to be on the team. That was all during the first half of class which was not fun to deal with.  While the second half of class we went over a couple of the slides in Microfinance so we didn't finish. But for the test Friday I really hope that the power point is up by then because it will be a great study tool.

A: A form of financial aid for small businesses that don't have access to banking services.

A: Microfinance solves the destruction of small businesses do to the fact of large businesses taking control.

A: An organization that makes business loans to individuals who are not able to obtain financing from traditional lenders

A: People can get a loan from other people who have money. Once the people who are borrowing can escape poverty, they can pay the donors back.

6.) Q: What is Kiva?
A: Kiva is an online website for giving microloans to the people who are asking for it.

7.) Q: What is a microloans?
A: Loans to people who ask for money to start their small business.

8.) Q: What kind of problems in countries that need microfinance?
A: Malaria, Drought, and Clean Water.

9.) Q: What is malaria?
A: Malaria is a life-threating disease spread by female mosquitos.

10.) Q: What are solutions to malaria?
A: Doctors are trying to figure out vaccines for malaria, and International Peace Corps. are trying to fight the battle against malaria.

Day #33-The Funny Folk Tales

Today in Human Geo we had a very easy class and it was easily the most fun of a class that I could have because it was so easy. All we did in class was just tell stories so that was so easy and it was funny because the stories that THE SHICK MAN told were classic. I wish we could have more classes like that but we didn’t get any work done so we won’t be able to. But it was a great final class of Human Geo before the break so I am happy about that. Now I know the famous Gumby stories that everyone who has ever had Mr. Schick has talked about. In this class it is not my favorite class because of the material but it is my favorite class because of the teacher and it is so much fun. It is up there with German and English when it comes to having fun.

Day #32-Argueable Assingment

Today in Human Geo we did a new project and did something new and a change for the first time in a long time. We made a project as a class on Google documents. I thought that it was a great idea and a chance for us to do something on our own. But once again there were a few people who thought differently than the teacher and blew this thing out of proportion. Some people think that there should be rule and civilized but if it went there way than there is a more than likely chance that work would not have been done. We should have assigned partners and then each group makes a slide or two and then will edit that slide until we are done. While the entire class was yelling and carrying on and trying to get order my partner Zach and I managed to finish and edit four slides that were ready to be read. we managed to get four slides done in 30 minutes and that was just two people. But unfortunately two of them got deleted and then we lost them but that was the work that people could. There are some people in this class that think that they are the leader and boss and rule everything but yet they are not because it was A CLASS PROJECT FOR EVERYONE TO WORK ON.

Day #31-Problem People

Today in Human Geo we went over the paper for our project and the questions during the entire class. I was not happy with how long it took to go over the paper because we only got to go over like 2 questions. There were some people that were complaining about the project and I think that people need to deal with the fact that we are doing the project and just do it. Mr. Schick is the teacher and the way he teaches is the way that we need to follow because he is the teacher. He chooses how we learn the material and how the lesson every day goes. But yet other people think that they are better than everyone else and don’t need to follow the rules and it annoys me. Because those people throw a fit when they don’t get their way and they should not get their way in the first place. Besides I think that the way that we are doing things now in class is better than usual.

Day #30-The Unfair Unit

Today in Human Geo we went over the test that we took last week and I felt bad when I took that test because it was quite hard when it took it. I thought that it was a little unfair because he said that on his blog most of the things we did not need to write down but in the end we had to write down a bunch of stuff. But in the end we needed all of things that we needed on his blog. So in the end I thought that it was so unfair that we could not use the things that we needed from his blog. The only thing that made up for the fact that we could not get the best of grades was the fact that we could use our blogs. So in the end I disagreed with what had happened and I did not like with what went down with this test.

Day #29-The Troubling Test

Today in Human geo we took a test on the leaders of the world and I thought that it was relatively hard test and I would not want to take it again. The only good thing that came out of the test today was the fact that we got to use our blog to help us with a couple of the questions on the test. But I was not happy with some of the questions that I had to answer. He said that we didn’t need some of the topics that were on the test but yet we did. I strongly disagree with what the test was about.

Day #28-The Terrific Test

Today in Human Geo class we went over the test that we got back and went over it. I did a pretty good job on the test even though the last question that I did was right and he put it down as wrong. So then he changed because everyone had a problem with that question. So now I have an 80% on that test which will help my grade a lot more. The questions that we did were pretty hard and I was not happy about that because they caused me problems on the test. The religion questions I did not get a good grade on because I got Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism mixed up quite a few times and I should have studied harder than I did. The other parts of the quiz from the first part of the unit I had done a great job on it. But the religion will have to be better in the near future.
